Both of the organizations I run are based on a simple mindset, “people over everything”. In over 25 years of leadership, I’ve always understood that prioritizing people first was the difference between success and failure.

Learning to evaluate people on their intangibles and potential is far more important than evaluating them on their education, years of experience or industry knowledge. Unfortunately, companies rarely do that because those things are easy to see and measure but it’s things like passion, work ethic, discipline and resiliency that are better predictors of future success.
